TESTIMONIALS

I always wanted to retire in Mexico, but couldn’t tolerate the coastal humidity. Someone suggested I check out the Lakeside area with its wonderful lakeside weather and she highly recommended her realtor Raul. When I arrived, I knew I wanted to live lakeside. Raul showed us around all the neighborhoods. He seemed to know the area and so many people who lived here. He asked us what we wanted in a house and showed us what was available with our criteria and in our price range.
The more I worked with Raul, the more I liked him. He was charming and funny, while being responsible, knowledgeable, straight forward, and efficient. Even though we didn’t purchase a home on that trip, we kept working with Raul remotely. We would both check chapalamls.com daily for new listings. I was in Chicago, while he was lakeside. It wasn’t easy to find a home with a pool, ranch style, with a bathtub, in a secure neighborhood. We both saw one that I liked, but it was overpriced. We continued to look and ones that were worth seeing, he would go to that property and he would tour the house using his cell phone as a camera to show me all the important features of the home.
Then a miracle happened. The house I liked that was overpriced, suddenly greatly reduced the price to a reasonable amount. Raul rushed over to the house and did one of his cell phone tours. He always knows how to check all the areas that a home inspector would. I loved it and Raul put together a plan for me to get it. We decided to offer $1000 over asking price to get it in case someone else came along with a full asking price offer. The seller was given a time limit to accept or reject the offer. I was pleased she accepted it.
I couldn’t move in right away because I still had to sell my home in the states. While I was away, Raul and Troy Meadows, both from Lake Chapala Real Estate, would check in on my property. They set up a security camera, removed swallow nests and cleaned up their mess, and regularly checked that everything was secure. They even made sure the gardener and pool man were doing their jobs. This eased my mind until we were ready to move.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Raul’s professional work. His job doesn’t end at the closing, but he will continue to help you with getting settled into living in your new home and a new country.
