I’m a Canadian born in Calgary, and I’ve spent the last 25 years living in Ajijic, Mexico. I’ve always loved sales, and I made my debut in the field as a business owner with a company called Sumqui Emporium International. For five years, I imported eel skin shoes and handbags from Korea, and Fabrics from Thailand, to distribute across Canada. We moved to Ajijic with our seven-year-old daughter, who went through all her schooling in Ajijic and Guadalajara. Shortly after moving to Mexico, Michael and I started Purely Canadian International in Ajijic. Through Purely Canadian, my husband and I imported wines from Chile, Argentina, France, Italy and the U.S.A. and distributed them throughout Mexico. After my husband’s passing, I sold the business to new owners in 2021. Outside of work, I’ve been an active Board member of a non profit organization called CASA (Culinary Arts Society of Ajijic) since 1999. CASA holds monthly cooking competitions for food lovers at Lakeside, and each month new judges are brought in from local restaurants to decide on the winning dishes in two categories: mains and desserts. I love cooking, and I enjoy exploring recipes across different cuisines and thinking of new ways to present food! During my years as a member of CASA, I have been fortunate to win many BING Awards (three First Place wins in one calendar year). I love Lake Chapala and have made this place and the people in it my home for over two decades, and I will work hard to ensure newcomers find their own little slice of paradise in this beautiful, culturally rich town. Welcome! I look forward to introducing you to your new hogar, dulce hogar (home, sweet home).
